Real Food Grant Program
Grants in Action
Greenstart Project, Calgary, AB
The Greenstart Project is a mobile greenhouse that teaches kids all about where the food we eat comes from. Last year, the project travelled to 18 schools in Rocky View, Alberta, and gave students a hands-on lesson in the sharing and caring of plants.
Newmarket Main Street Farmers Market, Newmarket, ON
Newmarket Main Street Farmers Market brought family and friends together for fall sandwich-making day with the help of Hellmann's Real Food Grant program. Children and parents had the opportunity to create and enjoy their own delicious masterpieces using real, local ingredients.
Sir Wilfred Laurier School Board, Deux Montagnes, QC
Sir Wilfred Laurier School Board used a grant from Hellmann's to implement a series of cooking and nutrition classes for students in grades 5 and 6. Students learned about Canada's Food Guide and how to lead a healthy lifestyle over the eight-week workshop. Students then created their own cookbooks based on their learnings to share with friends and family.
