This is the first time I visit your blog. I read some of your posts and am quite impressed with your presentation style and blog design. I have added you to my firefox bookmarks. Thanks! :)

I have ducks in my back yard. I use them for eggs and for eating up the slugs in my yard so that I do not have to resort to chemicals to protect my garden , also ducks are beautiful to look at. Nanaimo is now allowing chickens in back yards in the city and I like it , I think every one should do it .

I am writing from Guelph Ontario and we are a chicken friendly community too, like Donna's Nanimo BC. We pick up our chickens on Monday and we are thrilled with the educational experience it will provide for our three children as well as the fresh eggs! We have n intensive garden that provides us with vegetables, and when we move into this house we took out ornamental trees and put in fruit trees. We are looking forward to more opportunities to connect with our food sources. I am also part of the West Willow Woods Neighbourhood Goup and we have a community garden and collective kitchen that are in full swing. As a community Guelph has many linke-minded people!
